What documentation do I need?
To sign up for any electricity supply, you have to provide the following documents:
- First occupancy permit or opening for the first sign-up.
- Certificate of occupancy issued by the provincial body of the Ministry of Public Works or Regional Government, or final rating certificate.
- Low Voltage Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC),depending on the type of supply, in triplicate, issued by the electrical contractor who carried out the installation and stamped by the competent authority.
- ID card, tax ID, company tax ID, passport or work certificate.
- Title deed or rental agreement, or award document for public property developments.
What does the sign-up cost depend on?
The final price of your contract will depend on the recognised charges relating to the supply point for which the service is to be activated. Providing the requested power does not exceed 50 kW, these charges are as follows:
The mains connection charge is a cash consideration payable to the distribution company for performing all actions required to serve a new supply or upgrade an existing one.
Once paid, the mains connection charge will be attached to the installations, whereby only those service extension and access charges that exceed the current ones will have to be paid. Access charges must always be paid upon signing the contract.
The method for calculating the cost of such charges is as follows:
Service extension fee: €17.374714 / kW exceeding the recognised amount.
Service access fee: €19.703137 / kW likewise exceeding the recognised amount.
The mains connection charge is payable to distributors if they have to electrically connect the receiver installation to their grids. Said charge is also payable to the distribution company whenever it has to intervene on the metering equipment.
The mains connection charge is €9.044760.
The inspection charge must be paid by the consumer whenever the distribution company carries out this operation.
The inspection charge is €8.011716.
The inspection charge shall not be payable whenever power upgrades do not exceed the maximum power allowed as specified in the latest installer bulletin, provided that the installation is less than 20 years old.
The security charge is the amount payable upon sign-up, which shall be equal to the theoretical monthly billing for 50 hours use of the contracted power.
